As Asus and Samsung continue their full frontal assault on the iPad, Asus is making a slight adjustment to their strategy and unifying their products under one flag. Gone is the EeePad brand and all tablets will now fall under the Transformer moniker.
To get things started, Asus introduced their Transformer Pad 300 Series as part of their “low end” line up. With a 1.2Ghz Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS display and an 8MP camera. Like the Prime an optional keyboard dock will be made available as well as an LTE version. In terms of price, it will slot in just below the Transformer Prime.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Transformer Infinity line will be considered the flagship model. This series will feature a 10.1 inch Super IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1200. It be made available in a wifi only and a 3G/LTE versions. These two versions will also come with two different processors. The Wifi version gets the 1.6GHz Tegra 3 processor and the 3G/LTE gets the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor.
Release dates have not been announced.
